2-9-54 Regulation of Sound Equipment and Sound Amplifying Equipment: Notwithstanding the provisions of this Ordinance concerning mechanical sound-making devices, the Chief of Police has the discretion to grant written permission authorizing the use of mechanical sound-making devices at such a volume and in such a manner so as to create, or cause to be created, noises or sounds which are plainly audible at a distance of 1,000 feet from the source of the noise or sound between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. for certain activities.

Ordinance 2-9-54 regulates sound equipment and sound amplifying equipment from private property which sounds may not be plainly heard at 300 feet between 7:00 a.m. and 11 p.m., and plainly heard at 100 feet from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. For Public Parks and other property, the mechanical noise may not be plainly audible at a distance of 100 feet or more from the source. However, the Chief of the County Police may grant a variance permit for anyone of the following activities:
